Breakfast Challenge Day 4

Posting late due in part to seeing the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tonight at DVC.
I saw the understudy show tonight, and it was fantastic.
Go check it out if you haven't already.

But I digress...
I started off the day with an egg and two slices of bacon jammed in between to hot bagel halves.
It was TASTY.

What tomorrow brings, I do not know.

Just as food for thought, check out this family of animals:

Until tomorrow

Breakfast Challenge Day 3

So it looks like the snooze button ultimately won out on Day 3.
A lame excuse, I know.
I settled for a bowl of yogurt with granola.

But tomorrow will be a brighter day!  A new breakfast will be concocted and a non-food picture will be posted.

For now, enjoy this picture of a family of bears fighting against the current of a waterfall.

Pretty amazing, wouldn't you say?

TUNE IN TOMORROW TO FIND OUT WHAT FAMILY OF ANIMALS I'LL BE EATING FOR BREAKFAST.

Made a 3 egg scramble with spinach, garlic, mushrooms, chicken apple sausage and onions.
Pretty damn good.

Breakfast Challenge Day 1

I recently decided to give myself a little challenge:
To make a different breakfast every morning for two weeks in a row.
Today was day one of what I dub "The Two Week Breakfast Challenge".

Quite original, wouldn't you say?

I had to start off with something simple to warm up, so I made waffles and fried eggs.
I was feeling a little spontaneous, so I decided to be hip and put the fried eggs on top of the waffle.
It wasn't half bad.

I'm not going to post a picture of it, cuz I'm not into that food porn crap.

Instead, I invite you to enjoy this picture of a happy turtle family.

Tune in tomorrow to find out what's next on the menu.

Will it be eggs benedict?  A challenging omelet?  A family of turtles?

ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

UPDATES

LIFE UPDATES:

1) SLEEPING BAG
I got a gigantic cozy L.L. Bean Sleeping Bag for Christmas.  I have been sleeping in it every night.  Perhaps this is a sign I should go camping?
2. BIKE
I have resolved to bike as much as possible.
I was inspired by my friend Luke (what a great name, eh?) who biked across the entire country after he graduated high school.  What a beast of a man.
Other Reasons:
a) Saves money on gas
b) Good for my health
c) Oh, and I guess its good for the environment or whatever.  But I'm more important.

I plan to make the small trip (about 4 miles) to my brother's house in Hercules for the big niner game today.  It took me about thirty minutes to make the trip last time, and I want to trim my time down to 25 minutes.

Rooting for a Har-bowl.  It's gonna happen.
3. PLAY
In preparation for my upcoming college auditions, I have been reading plays like mad in search for a monologue.

Plays read:
Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abbaire
August: Osage County by Tracy Letts (highly recommend)
This is Our Youth by Kenneth Lonergan

Currently Reading:
Simpatico by Sam Shepard
Oedipus, King of Thebes by Sophocles

I have a three hour break between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I plan to spend that time reading plays.  If you've got any good recommendations (preferably plays involving young men) send them my way!

The set for August: Osage County

Well, it's about time I got dressed and ready for the big game.  Go Niners!

An old short poem

Found this poem in an old notebook of mine and thought I'd share it:

The three legged create trumpets forward,
Breaking barriers of sound and time and
struggling for cultural relevance.

Ears turned off from meaning
and opened to blasting garbage.
Dance floor boogie is dead.
Replaced with shit instead.

Faint

So a girl literally fainted in my Developmental Psychology class while we were watching a video of a live birth.  Right when the head began to pop out, she just lost all control and knocked out.  Everyone looked her way in shock, but I turned back and continued watching the movie.  I was going to let some fainted girl ruin my cinematic experience.

I eventually turned my head to look, because I thought I might look like a jackass for watching the movie while someone in my vicinity was in danger.  The teacher had brought her back to the realm of the living and was asking her questions to test her memory.  I heard an older woman behind me utter "someone oughta go fan her face".  I looked back to see the same woman walking over with a piece of paper to fan the girl's face.  Her motherly instincts took over.

The teacher cancelled the class after she called an ambulance and I headed out of class, unenlightened as to what I could expect when my time to be a father came around.  But that won't happen for quite awhile.  Sorry to disappoint you mom.

I guess I need to put some kind of image in the blog to make it more visually appealing.  Welp, here goes:
"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured."-Kurt Vonnegut

Happy Travels.  Watch for squirrels.
